It was great to ride with our tour guide Ollie. Though it was a rainy busy Monday morning in London. This tour provides a good fast visit of the city that you may decide where to spend some more time on the left of your days in London.
Having only two full days in London, this tour was a great way to see a lot of the city in a short period of time. Our guide, Catherine, was excellent, providing details about all of our stops, as well as answering everyone's questions. Winding through town on busy streets as well as a dedicated bike path, the leisurely 13 km. ride includes more than 20 stops throughout the city including St. Paul's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, and Buckingham Palace... where we saw the Queen! Plenty of time was given to take photos, ask questions or just take in the sights.
Thank you Tanja for showing us around with our group of Donation Coordinators on Monday 7 oktober 2019. You did very nice, your dutch was perfect and you told us some nice stories. We liked it very much, thanks and I hope we will come again!
My wife and I visited London for a week and the Love London Bicycle Tour was the highlight of our trip! We purchased the London Pass and this is included, but be certain to make reservations in advance then follow instructions to book. We were disappointed with a previously taken bus tour mostly because lots of Central London streets were closed for ongoing peaceful climate change protests. As a result I looked into other tours for seeing the city and am so thankful for finding this gem of a tour. This is truly an amazing, comprehensive and unique way to see London. I’ll add that while I’m in good shape, I’m not a bicyclist. However, the tour was not physically strenuous and you stop frequently to listen to your guide discuss attractions. Jordi was our guide. Jordi is an amazing guide and an incredible person. He was highly knowledgeable, funny and caring. We felt safe the entire time even in some of the more heavily trafficked areas. One other tourist was with my wife and I so there were four of us in total. We loved every minute of the tour even when we visited some places we’d already been previously on our trip. Jordi added lots of color and insight on all stops. We learned a ton of information and covered a lot of ground in just over three hours. My personal favorite part was when Jordi took us slightly off path to find a new Banksy in Marble Arch. I’d highly recommend this tour! We took it mid-trip which worked well, but you could take it to begin or end your visit. Don’t overlook this tour if you have the London Pass. Dress for the occasion and check the weather. We tipped Jordi although this wasn’t expected or required, but given our wonderful experience I thought it necessary. This bicycle tour is truly the best way to see London!
We were a group of 9 friends and 3 fellow bikers. Plus our excellent, smart, adorable guide Eileen. Everyone had so much fun. The bike ride made a large city seem a little smaller with the amount of ground we covered. Eileen had a wealth of knowledge about the city which made the tour even more interesting. One word of advice if you have a large group. Eileen and I worked out a system where I was always the last rider since I'm a strong bike rider where she could look back and I would raise my arm and give the thumbs up that the line is intact and things were good. A line can get a little stretched out if like us not all riders are experienced. I hghly recommend you take a bike tour and The London Bicycle Tour Company is the group to book!!
We had a great experience taking a 3.5 hour leisurely bike tour of central London with Catherine as our tour guide. She ensured we had a safe and fun experience. We didn't just follow a rigid itinerary, we also took opportunities to take in what the city had to offer. We stopped to watch the filming of a scene from the new James Bond movie. She was also open to stopping when we saw a good photo opportunity. Forget the crowded buses or walking tours, biking London is the best way to see it. Even better is having a guide to make sure you are biking on the left side of the road.
We enjoyed a peivatetour with our group of twelve. Tanja ( Dutch guide) did a good job telling us about London, the sights, the history. We especially liked her personal stories as a London citizen.
We were on the Classic London tour today with the wonderful Ollie he was fantastic .... he was witty, humorous and very informative he was able to tailor his approach to the members of the group so that everyone was able to understand his references and enjoy his banter.
The 3 hour tour was a gentle 10k with plenty of stops for photo opportunities and a coffee stop which had amazing cake. Ollie's recommendation of the carrot cake was indeed good. We also loved his London play list .... especially Money in the City
The bikes were very good and obviously well maintained, the ladies bikes were fixies and the gents three geared but were comfortable.
We would recommend this tour to anyone and may in the future endeavour to do one of the other tours on offer
An excellent bike tour that takes in all the main sites. The guide (Catherine) was excellent and bikes really comfy (Mary poppies style) bikes. Highly enjoyable even with the hoards of tourist we had to dodge. Highly recommend for all competent riders.
I was planning a weekend trip to London with my 12 year old daughter and looking for an activity for the Sunday on the Tesco clubcard days out site when I came across this. Booked with clubcard Boost so paid only a third of the published price in clubcard points which was excellent value. We both enjoy cycling but coming from the countryside would not have the confidence or the geographical knowledge to navigate around London by bike by ourselves. George (Jorge?), our guide was fantastic. We never felt unsafe and he constantly checked that the group (8 altogether, mostly American, and apart from my daughter all adults) were still together and ok. The route was mainly interesting little back streets and cycle paths. For crossing busy roads, we crossed as a group so you didn't have to worry. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the areas he showed us and also provided many other recommendations of places to visit in London. There were lots of stops and opportunities to take photos. Rather than queue for an hour or more to see the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, we were taken to a spot where we had a prime view of the guards marching to go off duty without the crowds or the waiting. Also a thank you to the nice lady in the office at the Bike Company who held the group back for a few minutes as we were late arriving due to my complete ineptitude at map reading ( I told you I couldn't navigate ) couple with some of the tube stations being closed that day. They saw us coming down the road and had our bikes ready for us with seats at the correct height so that when we arrived so we could just grab a helmet and set off with the group. The bikes were good - no gears but you don't need them in London, in good order with effective brakes and equipped with lights and a bell (which you probably will use as some of the cycle paths are shared with pedestrians).
You do need to be able to ride a bike and ideally have some idea of road rules and safety but no great skill or endurance needed. I would recommend this to any able bodied person who prefers outdoor activities to indoor ones. You get a good dose of history as well!
