I am Londoner however I decided to into the London Christmas Lights Tour to rediscover in an alternative way. I took the tour today and I found the experience lovely, instructive and very enjoyable enjoyable. Jordi is a knowledgeable and cool guide.
We had a fantastic evening with our guide Catherine. She was very patient with us, gave us plenty of photo opportunities and always ensured we were safe, as the streets were crowded and roads very busy. The views of the lights were expectacular, and we discovered areas of London we've never seen before. Catherine was very aware of our needs as a deaf group and kept a good pace for us, ensure the group was always together.
We went to see the Christmas lights (but I'm sure the tour would be just as good without them) and had a great three hours plus, riding from South London over Westminster Bridge to Parliament Square, then on to Oxford Street, Regents Street, Carnaby Street, the Kings Road, Covent Garden, Hyde Park, Seven Dials, etc. and saw places like Harrods and lots of other places - if there were lights we saw them. Finishing up on the Strand before heading back over Waterloo Bridge.
The bikes were good (three gears - but as there were no hills involved they were more than adequate) and the tour guide was excellent, knowledgeable and patient.
I wasn't over keen on going on this tour but I'm so glad I did - Brilliant.
One thing though I think you need to be confident on a bike in traffic to fully enjoy the experience.
Birgit gave us a really interesting tour including sections of waterways in central London which were hidden gems. We also cycled past interesting architecture from through the ages which Birgit was able to tell us about in an informative manner. The entire tour was flat, and easy to navigate thanks to Birgits care.
My brother and I did the classic bicycle tour in Dutch by Tanja. The tour was really nice, and we had planty of time to take pictures, and listen to all the information Tanja told us. This tour is a must do in London if you want to see the famous highlights in a few hours!
