What size bike is best for you?

Getting the correct size bicycle is an important step in making sure you have a great ride.

In selecting a bicycle, there are a couple of things to take into consideration:

1. Type of Bicycle

If you are riding a traditional bicycle (which is used for recreational, non competitive, short distance cycling), It's likely the bike be ok for you, unless you are very short, or very tall. Our traditional bicycles that we use for guided tours have adjustable seat heights, so selecting the exact frame size is less of an issue. If you're riding a Sport bicycle, Touring bicycle or other specialised bike, you may want to pay attention to the frame and wheel sizes.

2. Frame Size

The bike frame is measured from the crank (the centre of where the pedals go around) up to the top of the fixed seat pole (if there were no seat on it).

3. Your Height

To work out what frame is best for you, you can measure your inside leg, or inseam. This is the distance from your heel (the ground) up to the top of the inside of your thigh, by your crotch area. Use this table to see a good inseam to frame size match.
